In an exciting combination of practice and teaching, Darmstadt-based digital agency amce studios is once again bringing its expertise to Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (h_da). The managing director of amce studios, Amelie Diehl, is once again working as a lecturer at h_da this semester.
Once an Onkomm student herself at the Dieburg Media Campus, she now heads the "Online Marketing Learning Agency" together with Professor Dr. Andreas Vlasic, course coordinator with the Online Branding and Brand Management department at h_da. The aim is to give students insights into the world of digital communication and explicitly into the development of concepts for the development and optimization of strategic (brand) communication.
As part of the learning agency, around 25 Onkomm students are working on tasks in the field of strategic (brand) communication for various clients and project partners this summer semester.
Amelie Diehl has a dual role: as a manager at amce studios on the one hand and as a lecturer on the other. With the learning agency's offer, she enables students to gain practical experience and benefit directly from current industry trends and best practices. Two employees of the digital agency amce studios, Praskovia Zaroslova and Yalda Jalilvand, will also bring their knowledge to h_da. As Master's students at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and also members of the amce studios team, both will bring unique perspectives to the classroom. Their practical experience from day-to-day agency work and their passion for digital innovation make them valuable sources of ideas for the students.
Yalda Jalilvand is a graphic and experience designer at amce studios and a Master's student at h_da. "I work as a graphic designer specializing in web design and branding, and I'm pursuing a Master's degree in International Media Cultural Work," is how she describes herself. Her role at h_da: "This semester, I work as a tutor in graphic design in Hochschule Darmstadt. Collaborating with students, we will work on a semester-long project to develop a visual identity for the student exhibition curated by the entire course. Our tasks will involve creating various printed materials including posters, booklets, leaflets, and more". Yalda Jalilvand leads a workshop on Generative AI at the university to introduce stable diffusion and AI workflows. This workshop spans three sessions and focuses on creating different types of visuals such as videos and 3D assets using AI. Praskovia Zaroslova is a graphic designer specializing in web design and branding at amce studios and is studying in the Master International Media Cultural Work. This semester she is also working as a tutor for graphic design at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. Together with the students, she will develop a visual identity for the student exhibition this summer semester, which will be curated by the entire course. The tasks include the creation of various printed materials such as posters, brochures, leaflets and more.
The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical input from lecturers Amelie Diehl, Yalda Jalilvand and Praskovia Zaroslova promises dynamic and instructive teaching for the students at h_da. This partnership between the university and amce studios not only strengthens the link between theory and practice, but also promotes the transfer of knowledge and the professional development of future specialists in the digital industry.
"We are delighted to be part of this innovative educational project and to contribute to the training of the next generation of digital professionals," says Amelie Diehl. Through its ongoing collaboration with Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, amce studios aims to ensure that students are optimally prepared for the demands of the digital job market. Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (h_da) is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Germany and offers over 70 degree programs at Bachelor's, Diploma and Master's level. Around 17,000 students study in the fields of engineering, natural sciences and mathematics, information science and computer science, business and society, architecture, media and design.
As a university of applied sciences, h_da promotes student success through small groups and a good student-to-staff ratio.
Since it was founded in the 1970s, h_da has continuously expanded its expertise in applied research. It is part of the development that led to the renaming of universities of applied sciences as universities of applied sciences in 2016 and the right to award doctorates for research-intensive disciplines.
